Right at the entrance of Borough Market, there's a place that always seems to have a line (or two) of people waiting. This is Kappacasein Dairy, owned by a man named Bill Oglethorpe. It's a small stand, but what it offers is big on taste and tradition. Kappacasein is famous for making its own cheese, called Ogleshield, which is rich and flavorful, mixed with leeks, garlic, and onion. This blend is the secret behind their legendary grilled cheese sandwich, often called the best in London. Picture a sandwich with sourdough bread, grilled until it's just the right kind of crispy, and filled with melting Ogleshield cheese – a simple yet perfect combination. But the grilled cheese isn't the only star here. Kappacasein also serves Raclette, a dish that's as fun to watch being made as it is to eat. They take a big wheel of cheese, heat it up, and then scrape off the melted part onto a plate of boiled potatoes, pickles, and onions. It's a warm, gooey delight, especially on a chilly day. This is great for vegetarians but we haven’t seen any vegan options. You can expect to pay around eight pounds for a heavenly bite here.
