This tells us the story of Annunciation. The statue with half the wing is Angel Gabriel and the lady on his side is Virgin Mary. The Annunciation is the event when the angel visits Mary to tell her that she is going to give birth to Christ. Now look to the two statues beside Virgin Mary; this is the event of 'Visitation.' The statue on the left is Virgin Mary and on the right is her cousin Elizabeth. Both are pregnant at that time, Virgin Mary with Christ and Elizabeth with Saint John the Baptist. Now look at the two scenes again; do you see the difference in the carvings of the statues? The level of detail and style is very different. Now, this is because building such a big cathedral is not easy and work goes on for many years. The masons come from different regions and have different styles. This is one of the main reasons for the differences in styles of the statues. Look closely at Virgin Mary from the Visitation scene; look how the clothes are draped over her and notice how one knee protrudes outside and her body weight is on her left leg. This is a typical Roman architecture; if you have visited the Parthenon, you will see something similar. Now look at her hips; they are protruding out forming an S shape when looked at from the side, which is a very Gothic style and was called the Gothic Sway. Now look back to the Annunciation event. Look at the Virgin Mary; see how she is dressed in a simple dress and all lines on the dress flow vertically downwards. In comparison, look at the Angel Gabriel; see how the dress has minor details; look at the feet and you can see the material folding which is absent in the Virgin Mary. Look at the body proportions of Mary and Gabriel, and you will see that Mary has proportions similar to a human whereas Gabriel has a small face, long neck, and proportions different from a human. The way he holds his dress is similar to that of a member from a royal palace. You can see some colors on his wings which tells us that all figures were colored at some point in time. Now look to the door and you will see Virgin Mary with Christ. Play the next stop once you are ready.

It gives enough of an overview and interesting details within a good time period. My wife and I took about 75 minutes to complete it. But it could be don’t more quickly if desired. The AI voice is fairly good but really mangles some words, both in English et en français but still, overall, a very good tour.
