The river sadly has dried up today but the same river once caused floods. This picturesque bridge appears in some bustling scenes in the Game of Thrones series. It is here that Arya looks towards the gigantic statue of a soldier and it is a spot where she is stabbed by an old woman. The statue is called the Titan of Braavos and is a massive statue that guards the entrance into the lagoon where Braavos is situated. It is supposedly inspired by the Colossus of Rhodes but some have also suggested some inspiration from the Statue of Liberty. The statue as well as the water were created using CGI and it is in fact quite difficult to picture this bridge as the same one in the series in these quiet settings. The CGI budget of Game of Thrones ran into millions of dollars per episode. And as the show became more popular and the special effects became more spectacular like with the explosion of the Great Sept of Baelor and the burning of King’s Landing by the dragons, the budgets also increased. The initial episodes cost about six million dollars each but by the last season, the budget of each episode had more than doubled to nearly fifteen million dollars. Nevertheless, it was extremely profitable and is supposed to have earned over three billion dollars. This was in spite of the fact that Game of Thrones was the most pirated tv show for six consecutive years and three out of four people who watched the show apparently watched a pirated version.
