Broussaille Mural at Rue Marché au Charbon 41
00:00 / 01:04
The Broussaille mural is one of the first murals commissioned in the year nineteen hundred and ninety-one. Created by Frank Pé, Broussaille is a character known for his reflective and poetic adventures through the city, often accompanied by his girlfriend, Catherine. When Frank Pé introduced the character Broussaille, he quickly became known for his introspective nature and deep connection to urban and natural environments. The mural depicts Broussaille and Catherine in a serene scene, surrounded by elements of the city and nature, reflecting the comic's themes of exploration and discovery. An interesting fact about most murals painted around Brussels is that they incorporate some aspect of the neighborhood in them. This particular mural depicts the lane leading to it! Something to look out for in the upcoming murals! Next, we’ll head to the Ducobu mural.

We really enjoyed this activity, which we could do at our own pace. The app is easy to use, and the illustrations make it simple to ensure you are in the right place. It is a great way to get an overview of Brussels' comic strip art.

The tour gave good...

The tour gave good information about each stop. I found the directions to travel from place to place a little hard to follow but overall thought it was a good value.

Great value and very enjoyable!

I signed up for this tour on a free day during our Brussels visit, and I am very glad I did! My husband wasn’t able to go with me, and as I am an active senior I headed out on my own adventure. I enjoyed it much more than I anticipated… it was part scavenger hunt, part fascinating history (of comics, artists, and the cultural climate of the time), and part art appreciation. Bonus elements included exercise and sightseeing down streets I would not have otherwise explored. I highly recommend this tour, it was great value and a highlight of my stay in Brussels!
